England-Booking B&B on Holiday??

It looks like our England-Wales trip will commence around May 1.
It is my understanding that May 5th is a Bank Holiday.

Normally I only book our first night B&B in advance. However given that our first few days will be over a Bank Holiday weekend - should I book the entire weekend (or part of it) in advance? How hard is it in general to find a B&B that weekend? We will most likely be in Shropshire (maybe Ironbidge specifically) or North Wales for that weekend. Are those areas quite popular on Long weekends?

Also can anyone recommend a B&B in or near Ironbridge? And is it likely to be popular that weekend?

Thanks for any help!

Great question, topping for answers.

YOu should be able to find something but to get much choice I would advise booking for the bank holidays.

I agree with nona. That bank holiday is the least busy of the year (as bank holidays go) but I would book ahead to be sure. Whilst you would probably be able to find something, for a wider choice, book ahead.

I agree with nona. That bank holiday is the least busy of the year since it does not fall during school holidays but I would book ahead to be sure. Whilst you would probably be able to find something, for a wider choice, book ahead.

Thx for advice - I am leaning towards booking ahead now - just to be sure and not stressed
