England axes testing…
|
Again.
|
Fabulous news. Hope it holds.
Thanks for posting this. |
Yes NYSE, thank you for posting this welcome news. Fodorites like TrophyWife, MaiTaiTom and ourselves are sick of being stay-at-home travelers and are excited to finally be Brit-bound.
I am done. the light at the end of the tunnel |
A couple of weeks to wait yet.
Not sure if it is a light at the end of the tunnel or Boris seeking distractions from his troubles. You still need a Passenger Locator Form. |
And a “Fit to Fly” negative test to return back to U.S. (I believe.)

Is my understanding correct, as of today, people arriving from the US does not need to take a PCR or Antigen test if fully vaccinated but will need to take a test on day two plus complete a locator form?
|
These changes take effect on February 11. Until then you still need a 'day 2 test' that you can take any time after arrival up to day 2. You do not need to quarantine until the result comes back, and it can be an antigen test that you take at home. You take a photo of the result and mail it to the test centre.

It’s important to have the correct test for the correct purpose so it can be reported correctly ie a day 2 arrivals test vs a pre departure ex U.K. test. The tests are the same, it’s the reporting behind it that’s different. |

I did the test from Biogroup a few times. I've also used their test center in Notting Hill. Very efficient.
I don't live in the UK, but travel between Belgium and London often. The different rules are driving me nuts. I like to take the Eurotunnel by car, but the French insist on an additional test for driving the half hour through France to Belgium, that is if they 'allow' me to travel via Calais. And returning to Belgium I need 2 PCR tests, on day one AND day 7. Belgium now has 4 times the infections that the UK has. |

The self test process varies, some want a photo, some are supervised by video so no photo & yet others don’t want any evidence at all etc.

But it sounds as if after 11 Feb. no tests are required at all, inbound or outbound, for the fully vaxxed.

You'll still need a test when traveling from the UK to many destinations. For now at least. Sometimes pre-departure AND when arriving at your destination.
