Elvira

Is Elvira still with us or has she gone to a "better place," as some call it?

Thanks

No one seems to know what happened to Elvira including those that had the pleasure of meeting her ehc.

Hopefully she is well and living a beautiful life.

You mean, like Paris?

She hasn't posted here for a very long time. I had the pleasure of meeting her in Paris (along with MelissaHI)a number of years ago, and hope she just chose to leave Fodors, and is well.

Yes, unfortunately for us, she did choose to leave.

What a shame. When I saw this thread title I got excited thinking someone had found her. She was a hoot. Anyone know why she left?

cigalechanta Jan 3rd, 2009 05:36 PM

some usual nasty stuff as I recall.

JJ127 Jan 3rd, 2009 05:38 PM

Well darn! Another disappointment!! Every time I see a post with Elvira's name, I get my hopes up that she has returned. By far, one of the best posters ever on the forum - I miss her!

cigalechanta Jan 3rd, 2009 05:45 PM

Hopefully one of her friends will see how much we miss her.

Elvira's were the best trip reports ever. I think she did leave due some nasty threads. Unfortunately, some people just can't stand someone else being popular. It's a shame, as her reports were such fun plus gave great information.

Why would anyone be nasty to Elvira? I always loved her trip reports. Here's hoping she and the loons are well.

I too loved Elvira's trip reports. Its really sad when nastiness causes posters to leave Fodors. Unfortunately, there is a lot of nastiness going on right now in the Lounge by a small group who seem to thrive on ganging up on others. Bullying is not attractive!

Um...your name looks a bit like a part of the female sexual anatomy at a quick glance... Am I the only crazy one who noticed this?

Saying this with the utmost of respect and no nastiness meant...

I do recall Elvira, she was a lady of strong convictions and very knowledgeable specially in Paris. It is a pity she is not posting anymore. It is a loss for all of us.

Yes, you are the only crazy one. Not surprising, though (saying this with the utmost respect and no nastiness meant).

People come & go here for all kinds of reasons. I don't think (unless they post to tell us) we should assume anything about why someone is here or not.

J62 Jan 4th, 2009 09:05 AM

make that two of us

MelJ Jan 4th, 2009 10:17 AM

Elvira left us before registration took affect, I believe. As much as I miss her wonderful reports, I like to think that she and her loons are still off traveling the world and leaving each place they visited a bit better off and just a bit wackier.

Those of us who remember know it's true!
