Electronic Translator that talks
My husband and I are taking a two week trip to italy and greece in April, I was wondering what kind of talking electronic translator to buy. I would like one with a full qwerty keyboard and a clear voice. The research I have done all the reviews are sketchy and finding one with greek is definitely limiting. Help please any recommendations. Thanx

We bought one of these on a whim some years ago - a small box about the size of a pocket calculator that does about 12 languages in both audio and text. I guarantee you'll feel daft using it though. The only time we ever did resort to it was in Japan, trying to catch a ferry in a bit of a panic. Much better to get a basic phrase book and learn a few useful phrases. In tourist areas in both Italy and Greece, many people who come into contact with foreign visitors will speak good English anyway.

I agree. We have one (a gift). Much better in concept than in practice. I humbly suggest you stick with phrase book.

Please spare yourself the potential humiliation of a lifetime.
