Electricity

Hi All,

I am visiting Ukraine and would like to buy an adapter in order to use my computer, electric razor, etc. there. I went to Radio Shack and expected it to be very simple but it wasn't.

Please advise me of the details in order to buy the appropriate product.

Thank you,
Bob

You only need a plug adapter for the computer... it will use the Ukraine 220 v 50 cycle electricity. So will a camera or phone... look at the charging brick and you'll see "110-240" which is the voltage range the items will handle.

The shaver is another matter... you can get a transformer which will be heavy for a decent one. Check your hotels.... big ones often do offer a 110 outlet for shavers in some European countries.

Hi Bob, I don't know the answer to your question but probably to get the Ukraine experts you should tag your post with 'Ukraine'. Click on the yellow triangle above to get the attention of the forum editors and they will be able to tag it for you. In future you can select the country before finishing the post. That way the right people will see your question.

ParisAmsterdam is correct. The computer just needs an EU plug adapter but your electric razor will need a power converter.

It might be easier to leave your electric razor at home and just use a disposable razor for the time you're in Ukraine and only buy a $5 plug adapter for your computer.

Oh, and if you do decide to buy a power converter for your razor, DO NOT buy it from Radio Shack. Get this instead: http://www.amazon.com/CONVERTER-ADAP...dp/B0079O74TK/
