Electrical Outlet Adap
Okay, I'm pretty well confused. We will be traveling to Iceland and France later this year and I need to buy some outlet adapters. I don't need voltage converters......just plug adapters. I look at different websites and get different answers. Can someone help me to buy the right adapters?
Much thanks! Mike |

The typical plug adaptor for Europe costs <$1 USD and should be available at most travel and luggage stores.
If you had an iPhone, iPad or Mac, then you could purchase one made specifily for your Apple product online or at the nearest Apple or Best Buy store. You'll also find that most hotels keep some on hand for their clients. |
Not sure what is confusing you, but the chart tells you what you need to know

You don't need a special one for Apple devices. Use the chart janisj linked to and then go to Amazon. I would advise getting a few, so you don't have to keep moving them from device to device.

If you have several devices that can be charged via USB ports, you can buy a multi-port adapter for them. Depending on where you are staying, there may not be a lot of outlets available.

Amazon is a great spot to buy these due to the questions feature. You can peruse the questions people have asked (and, inevitably, someone will have asked about both Iceland and France) and see if it will work.

Here's a good source:

They also have these all-in-one thingies that can convert to different kinds of plug adapters, but they tend to cost a few bucks more. I always bring a handful of the cheapest kind.

I have one of those "all-in-one thingies" and like it. They're considerably heavier so if you want to cut every bit of weight possible a couple of those on my Amazon link at top would do nicely. It sort of depends on how many you need and if there will be more outlet configurations on the same trip. The all-in-one adaptors are also much bigger and sometimes don't fit well in a socket that's behind furniture or otherwise squeezed for space.

Thanks, y'all!
The chart says Iceland is C and E and France is C and F. So I need three different adapters for A to C, A to E and A to F? That's where the confusion is. |
E & F are grounded versions of C. C should work ("socket compatible with plug types C, E & F"), I never have the others.
