Electrical Adaptors and Converters - Switzerland and Italy

I've been reading through old topics on converters and adaptors. Since the most recent question is from 2009, I thought I'd ask if anything has changed, and if I am understanding correctly.

I will need to plug in a cell phone and camera battery charger. Both of these items are rated either 100-240 or 110-240 Volt / 50/60Hz.

Does this mean that I only need an adaptor to be able to plug these in, and do NOT need a converter?

Also, will I need two different adaptors since it seems that Italy has a completely different plug type than other european countries?

Where is the BEST place to get this from?

Yes, you do not need a converter for these items as they will work from 100v up to 240v.

Thanks, Hooameye.

Just after I posted this, I discovered this link for information related to electricity in Europe. Great resource!

Ok..next question.

In one of the many threads I recall seeing a surge protector that has a USB slot, and now I can't locate the thread with the link to this product.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and a link to the product or thread?

I just want to give you a pat on your back for posting the electrical ratings of your chargers. There are almost weekly postings on this subject, and the posters hardly ever post the electrical ratings but want to know if their equipments would work.
