Elba or Cinque Terre?
 

Near the end of September, we have a 3-day window between leaving Spoleto and beginning a 7-day agriturismo stay in the Chianti region. We are thinking a seaside visit, perhaps either Elba or Cinque Terre. Both seem appealing, although very different. Elba perhaps a little less touristy/crowded at this time of year? Mapblast.com indicates about a 4-1/2 hour trip to Piombino + the Elba ferry + wait times. Is it worth it? So many people have noted that the Cinque Terre trip is absolutely unforgettable.
