Elba- How To Get There
 

I went to www.elba.it It said you can get there by train, car, or ferry. I thought the only way was ferry. Am I reading this wrong? I also need some help on were to stay.We are planning to go in May.We will have a car,so which town is the best to explore. Hotel and Rest. information would also help Thanks Myra

The places I like at Elbaare Capoliveri and Marciana Marina

The mainland port is Piombino (a ghastly eyesore with a steelworks). Trains run to a station by the harbour, Piombino Marittima.
The two ferry companies' web sites are www.toremar.it and www.moby.it. Sailings to the main town of Portoferraio are frequent.
