Eiffel Tower underground

I know that I've seen something on the board about a tour of the underworkings of the Eiffel Tower, but I can't find the information.

I did a site search and a google search. I'm sure I'm just using poor terminology, but if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

I googled eiffel elevator machinery and found a lot of references. Maybe one of them is what you need.

It's really fascinating stuff (even if you're only marginally geeky). I used to have a pamphlet from the Smithsonian titled something like Elevator Systems of the Eiffel Tower that contained very detailed explanations of how the whole thing worked.

If you find any details about a tour, please be sure to post them here.

Thank you!

I'm sure that will get me what I'm looking for.

I just could NOT think of a good terminology to search. I will let you know if I find what I'm looking for.

I am kind of geeky and it sounded fascinating.
