Eiffel Tower Fireworks Photos July 14th
Hi All,
We've managed to attend the July 14th fireworks at the Eiffel Tower the last four years in a row. In my opinion, no fireworks show can quite match this unique and incredibly creative spectacle. For the first time this year, they had a fence around the entire Champs de Mars, with only a few security entrances. A sad reminder of the state of the world. I still think the Champs de Mars is the best location to watch from, since the show is intended to be seen from that side. But, it's amazing from all sides. For this year's outing, I chose a bridge over the Seine, to get the reflections in the water. Here's the link: http://fisherphotocraft.blogspot.com...uillet-14.html I hope you'll like them: Cheers! Merveilleux!!! Merci.

Glad you enjoyed them! If you ever have the chance, I recommend seeing them in real life too!
|
Stunning photography!!
|
Wow! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing,
|
Gorgeous photos and funny observation (about the train slowing down) ^^
|
Thanks! Glad you liked them. Did you have a chance to look at the earlier year photos? I was really happy with those results as well - but they are different.
|
My bad, I didn't. I was overwhelmed by the colors and the lights in your photos that I didn't see the links to older posts :)
Now I see them. Impressive pictures. I was there in 2014, your photos remind me of the stunning firework show. |
Absolutely stunning, love the reflections and composition.
|
Hey Adelaidean! Good to hear from you again! Glad you liked the photos. It was so crowded that the cars simply stopped in 5 of 6 lanes on the bridge. Cops were trying to keep traffic moving in at least one lane. Every inch of sidewalk on the bridge was full of people. I was pressed up against the rail after having stood there for 2.5 hours waiting!

Have been wandering through your other albums, esp liked Lisbon. Got so distracted I burnt dinner :)
|
STUNNING !
|
Thanks Adelaidean. I'll take that as a complement. Glad you were enjoying all those articles. Which Lisbon pics were they? The ones of the coast?
|
Loved them all, Lisbon city shots, the monastery, the coastline...
Always enjoy your photos and the accompanying text. Revisited your Dolomites set, this time after our trip there; incredible photography (but I'm glad we went in summer). |
Thanks bobthenavigator! Did you check out the earlier years' photos too? Different, but cool too.
Adelaidean - I guess I didn't know you went to the Dolomites before and after seeing my photos. That's really cool. Glad you got to go. Were you in the same area, in the parks around Cortina d'Ampezzo? |
We were in Ortisei, Val Gardena for a week in July, blue skies, warm, magic!
My photos at the end of this set https://flic.kr/s/aHskDja7Fy Our first trip to Italy, loved it! |
Nice work! Looked at all of them. Is that you in the blue blouse with a glass of white wine? We never saw those Dolomite peaks in your pictures. I think those are the most famous ones, but I guess they weren't on our route, or they were hidden on cloudy days!
Have you ever tried a polarizing filter? They cut out the haze in mountain air and glare from water. |
Yes, that's me (am usually behind the camera).
My husband bought me the camera and he was sure it had a filter on it, so just checked and it says "digital filter", not sure if that means polarizing filter.. We obviously also get a lot of glare on our hot, dry days in South Australia, so will read my manual on how to reduce that. You can almost 'feel' the heat in some of my photos :) |
