Has anyone had dinner at the top of the Eiffel Tower? We are thinking about it in July. Also does anyone know of any shops in Paris for big and tall men?

I don't believe there is a restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Picnic, maybe? That said, don't miss a trip to the top. Go at dusk so you can see the lights of Paris come on. Magnifique! <BR> <BR>

Claudiale: You better hurry, if you intend to book a table for dinner in July at the "Jules Verne". <BR>Personally, I have never eaten there, although I've been living in Paris for some more than 2 years. I am a women, not big and not tall. Try the large department stores like Galeries Lafayette or Printemps. There is a restuarant on the eiffel tower that is a 4* or 5*. You need to make reservations months in advance to get in. (on 2nd platform, not at the top) Start calling now. Fred: I think the place people did and still do not want to look at even more than the Eiffel Tower is the Tour Montparnasse which by the way has a nice restaurant(Ciel de Paris) as well on the 56th floor. If I remember well details can be found at: <BR>www.cieldeparis.com

Try going to reservethebest.com. I used them to book all my "fancy" restaurant reservations in Paris. Not sure if you can get in this late to Jules Verne, but give it a try!

Yo, Fred!!! You haven't dined there and are clearly not qualified to comment. While the place (jules verne) is always well book way in advance, chances of calling in the morning and achieving a booking are excellent, as many book but do not call to confirm or their entire trip has not materialized and they haven't bothered to cancel. No guarantees on this, but a very good possibility. Those in the know, of course, book a table as soon as they know they'll be in Paris just to be sure of a table. Shame on you for the "e-mail" me nonsense. I suppose that anyone who's really, really lazy would find your "guide" useful maybe, except that its way out of date and chock full of serious errors. I just inquired as to reservations at Jules Verne. <BR> <BR>They are booked for dinners thru October and for lunches thru June. <BR> <BR>Does Altitude 95 have a bar where you can go for a drink only? Or just for meals? <BR> <BR>Thanks.

In spite of Mark's vitriolic and uncalled for comment about Fred he did have a kernel of good advice. Call when you get there for the possibility of a cancellation. It is a dining experience both for the food and view.

I have been to the top and did not see the restuarant and I guarantee you that it is not a place to picnic.

We did eat at Jules Verne last summer. Made the reservations about this time for July and got in only by calling on the phone for lunch. E-mail or fax will get you nowhere. It is a treat, we are not doing it again this year, but recommend it at least once. Food was very good. Amercian tourists outnumbered the French though. Tres expensive.
