Sue, sorry but I'm not sure I know what you are asking.
I saw the movie "Pinocchio" when I was a little boy and it freaked me out. I now have a fear of long, wooden noses. What would Freud say? All I know is that I turned a corner in a shop in Tuscany this summer, and there was Pinocchio. I had to reach for my nitroglycerin tablets.
But seriously, what do you mean by "blue fairy." If you are really asking if I believe in fairies, the answer is, "Tinkerbell is most certainly real." But the "blue fairy?". . . .
And yes, what is reality?

In the Walt Disney version it is the Blue Fairy who not only gives P 'life' (in that he can walk and talk) but eventually transforms him into a real boy. Thus, given that you are apparently still not real, I felt she might be of some assistance.
Interesting the effect tales can have upon their intended audience. Alice in Wonderland terrified me as a kid, in fact I still find it more bizarre than entertaining. (Even though I have an annotated version that explains most of Carroll's logical puzzles.)

My suggestion is that people interested in simply start writing some new posts using the current structure of Fodor's...
Just include the word Budget in the title, post here on Europe, US, Smart Travel Tips branch.
It's easy enough to get a conversation going on the subject, as proven by Julies *survey* post not too long ago that got loads of replies.
