Oh Caroline -- you were right -- I did get them confused! I am so glad you pointed it out because I think that could have made for some stressful situations this weekend! We would like to go to the Edinburgh ZOO (googlemaps says it is 6 miles from our hotel). There is some parking but I think we will try the bus because I can't imagine there will be alot of parking on a sunny (fingers crossed) Saturday. If we decide to do Deep Sea World, near North Queensferry, that will be on Sunday, with the car, on our way out of town. Whew -- tragedy averted. I can just see us, stuck in a roundabout somewhere near North Queensferry shouting at each other "Where is the Zoo?" Thanks for you help! Enjoy your weekend as well.

I definately recommend going to the zoo by bus - there are tons of buses that head that way and it's a nice walk down to the bus stop from your hotel. The penguin parade is adorable and your child will love it. Have a fabulous time!

Just to point out that there have been road works on the Forth Road Bridge for the last several weeks at weekends with TYPICAL delays of an hour each way.

Assuming the roadworks are on this weekend going to Deep Sea World at North Queensferry with a toddler by car is not a good idea.

BKP, you are welcome - glad to be some help. You can get the Lothian no. 3, 26 or 31 bus from Princes Street to the Zoo - ask the driver to tell you when to get off. You pay the driver & need the right change - adult fares are £1 single or £2.50 day ticket but not sure about children.

Alan, I thought I heard the other day that the roadworks on the bridge were finally finished (for now), but maybe I was mistaken ?
