Edinburgh Snowglobe, Poster or Artwork

My girlfriend's birthday is coming up and has decorated with a travel theme. Edinburgh is her all time favorite city and yet doesn't have much to display from this city. Does anyone know where on the internet I could track down a poster of Ediburgh or a modern style piece of artwork depicting the city skyline or castle? She also has a snowglobe collection and an Edinburgh snowglobe would be a prized addition. I want to surprise her for her birthday, but having never been there myself, I'm not having much luck. Help please!

When I was in Edinbugh, I was all about the Jewelry.. and I don't usually like jewelry, but celtic rings (my husband and I had our wedding bands made there) <BR><BR>Anyway, I don't know specifically about snowglobes or posters, but the link below has links to several merchandisers (I didn't look into all of them but maybe you could get some other ideas) . PS you are a very nice boyfriend, to come up with such an interesting and thoughtful gift! <BR><BR><BR>http://www.scotnews.com/merchandise.htm

This company offers a colorful poster of Edinburgh. It's a US based company and the poster is $35.<BR>http://www.oldworldoriginals.com/purchase.htm

Maybe if she's not too busy hosting Beth, Sheila will come up with a good suggestion for you on this matter.

Just saw posting from Beth which means that Sheila is back in town. TTT for answer from Sheila.

Snowglobes are definitely beyond my ken; but you should try the Scotsman's site for posters. The Edinburgh based newspaper has made posters of some of its most successful photos. I'll see if I can find them for you.

It's amazing what you can find with www.google.com:<BR><BR>http://www.britishgiftshopusa.net/misc.htm<BR><BR>A music-box Edinburgh Castle topped with a piper encased in a snowglobe. For only $67.50.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'd really like to get her a modern watercolor painting or a snowglobe depicting the city centre, but from what I've found, I may have to settle on getting a poster framed. Thanks.

Can't help with the snow globe, but for a poster/artwork you may want to contact the Carson Clark Gallery in Edinburgh (on the Royal Mile). Don't know if they have a web site but their e-mail is: [email protected]<BR><BR>They specialize in antique maps and posters, and also sell wonderful hand-painted map reproductions.

The website for Carson Clark Gallery is <BR>http://www.carson-clark-gallery.co.uk/index1.htm<BR>But I don't imagine that it would appeal to the female population if your girlfriend likes watercolors.

I can't believe that there aren't any good snowglobes depicting one of the most scenic cities in the world. Does anyone know where to look while I'm on my next visit?
