Edinburgh restaurant
Any suggestions for Sunday lunch near Old Saint Paul's? Perhaps seafood, moderate to less expensive.

In case you didn't hear Jacques Chirac, he said there's no good food in Scotland so why waste your money?
|
Jacques never ate at MArtin's on Rose St, But sorry it is not open on Sundays or Mondays!
|
We liked Fisher's but not sure if it is open for lunch.
|
Looks Like Fisher's is open 7 days a week, from 12 noon until 10.30pm.
Thanks! Keith |

have a look at Creeler's too. It's closer |
Thanks Sheila,
I have another restaurant question. Any suggestions for a fun place for me to join a group of 8-15 friends for dinner in Glasgow on a Wednesday night? Thanks in part to this forum, I have a reputation for coming up with good places on the road. Hope you folks can make me look good again:-) Keith |
Anyone?
Keith |
Babbity Bowster.
|
But don't have the oysters. Their oysters made me the illest I've ever been - twice, a year apart - and now I can't eat them at all from anywhere.
|
Thank you again!
Am I correct in assuming that at a pub the tables are all first come first serve, that they don't take reservations? Keith |
Yes, that's right, but Babbity's is also a sort of hotel and sort of restaurant and I think they might well take bookings.
|
In case anyone wondered, Babbity takes reservations in the restaurant but not in the pub. They lady on the phone was very polite.

Thanks for the info, Keith !
From what I remember, the restaurant is upstairs & is more formal - definitely a restaurant and not part of the pub. But maybe drinking in the pub before & after a restaurant meal would fit the bill ? |
