Edinburgh questions-leaving tomorrow!
Yay-we leave tomorrow for Scotland!!
Thank you for all of the advice and help I have been given, especially by Janis and Sheila, but also many others. I have 2 questions:

What is the best "ghost walk" so to speak in Edinburgh?

Also, I have both the Frommers guide and Fodors...only wish to take one (HAve made countless other notes and print outs to take as well...which one is the best in terms of descriptions and advice and opinions...in your opinion? Yes, I have been through both, but in conjunction with each other and with many others as well so...little help? Thank you!

I'd suggest Edinburgh's City of the Dead Walk. It is unique; you will not have a ghost walk like this anywhere else in the UK. See http://www.blackhart.uk.com/cod/archive.html

This looks great!!! I've emailed but will also call for reservations for our 5th anniversary (just so happens to be Friday). I think I've seen it on the Travel Channel.

No idea about the answer to either questions, Ani; but there are some very good "Edinburgh" guide books you may wish to check out when you get there.

All good wishes for your trip. I feel like I'm going with you. Feel free to email or call if I can help once you're here. My home email is [email protected]

and my number is 01651 862417/ my mobile is 07836 6387231; and I'll be in Edinburgh for the rugby on Saturday, if you want to meet up for a drink.

Those huge, dark men lurking around the city won't be thugs or dangerous. It's just the Italian rugby team:)

I wouldn't take either Fromers or Fodors - but if you already have them xerox a few relevant pages from either one to take with you.

There are several terrific large book sellers in Edinburgh - two on Princes street alone. Go into one and look through the "local interest" sections and you will find scores of books better than the generic Frommer/Foder types.

'Scotland the Best' by Peter Irvive is a wonderful resource.

Oh - and have a GREAT time! let us know all about your adventures when you get back (or from one of the internet cafes you will find along your route)
