Edinburgh hotels
Can anyone recommend a well situated, reasonably priced hotel in Edinburgh that would accommodate 3 adults in a room? We will be there for only half a day of sightseeing so probably need somewhere convenient to Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile. As well we hope to see the Royal Yacht Britannia -

Try The Radisson on the High Street (Royal Mile)which is ideally located for the whole Edinburgh experience shooting match.
Very comfortable and super-efficient, welcoming and helpful staff. Expedia often has discounted rooms available from the Radisson chain. Dr D. |
Christa - reading your other threads -- my head is spinning - 1.5 days in London, 1/2 a day in Edinburgh, Glencoe/Skye and flying out of Glasgow. You are REALLY going to be rushing. I would skip the Royal Yacht this trip. You will have such a short time in Edinburgh and going out to the shore, touring the yacht and back to the city center will take up nearly half of your time budgeted for all of Edinburgh. There is much more to see/do right in the center of the city.
Check out the two Apex hotels in the old city. They are in terrific locations, have modern rooms, and have good rates. |
Try the Macdonald Hotel at teh bottom of the Mile.
Or the new one at the top of Leith Walk- the Glasshouse? |
I'd suggest that all you can do in half a day is take the open top bus tour & only get off at the Castle.

We stayed at The Royal Terrace while in Edingurgh. We walked to the castle. I
do not remember the price of my room. We put a package together for all of our travels and I can just remember the lump sum of our trip right now. I think we way have looked it up on Yahoo or some other search. The hotel was very nice we stayed there for 3 days. |
