Edinburgh hotels

Since Edinburgh is right at the top of the forum, I'll ask about hotels. I've been searching the net, and there are obviously tons on hotels to choose from. Can anyone recommend a 3 star, reasonably priced HOTEL (please no B&Bs) for a family of 4 - we'd prefer to keep it about 150 ps per night, but we can go a bit higher if we have to.

Tks.

Victress, we stayed at the Tailor's Hall hotel, and liked it very much, great breakfasts, location, very historical atmosphere. Try Google for the site. E-mail me if you want more info. Judy

The Roxburghe on Charlotte Square is actually a four-star hotel, I believe, and very nice, just recently rennovated. But I'm pretty sure you'd be able to get a room for the price you mentioned. It's a great location, at the end of Prices Street.

Try the Apex International in the Grassmarket

Gee thanks for aknowloging the advice I gave on the last post you did. Sorry I tried to give a suggestion. If you wanted to spend over a 150 ps per night I would not have wasted my time!

Jor, I think you have me mixed up with someone else, this is my first post on this subject. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them all out, but the Apex is about that price for a double, not a family, and that means we would need two of them.

Thanks

Victress, aim for deals. The last double I had at the Apex was £75. If it's not August I think you might well get one. the major problem is finding family rooms.

You might have success at the Edinburgh Thistle, depending on time of year. Extremely well located, just off Princes Street. Its a 4-star that sometimes has rooms in the 75-85 pound range on specials, and may have "family" accommodations. If you are driving, there will probably be an extra fee for parking at a near-by garage since the hotel has very limited free spaces.
