Edinburgh hotel or B&B suggestions or warnings
Heys folks,<BR>I'm back for more of you helpful advice! I need help finding 2 rooms for at least 2 nights (sept1 -2)in edinburgh, and as close to the Kildonan Lodge at 27 craigmillar park as possible. (That's where the rest of the wedding party are w/ is staying) so far the others in that area i was given as suggestions were the Navaar house, Brothaight house and Salisbury are booked. and am waiting to hear on Kingsly house. any suggestions or what are the streets in the area i can't find a decent map. are any of the chain hotels in the area? So idealy what i want is, one close to my friends , wheelchair accessible at least part way, not far from airport or waverly station and walking distance to resturants and such. am i asking to much ? :) but mainly close to friends place. any thoughts?<BR>thanks , heather

Craigmillar Park?

Craigmillar Park is not near Waverly or the airport. I don't stay in that area but there are many B&Bs near there. You may be able to find one - but that close to the end of the Tatttoo/Festival most will probably be full. And throwing in that it has to be wheelchair accesible will make it harder. There aren't any "chain" hotels in that area and few in Edinburgh at all. I would contact the Tourist Info Office directly (I don't have there phone number with me but it should be easy enough to locate.) Call them and get suggestions - they can even make the booking for you.

Cragimillar Park as in Craigmillar itself? If so then I'd avoid, an out of the way, run-down, economically depressed part of the city.<BR>

I can recommend a great B&B--The Dunedin Guest House on Priestfield Road, but it doesn't have handicapped-accesible rooms. I'd imagine that would be difficult to find in a B&B because most are in historically-listed homes. If you determine that's the way you want to go anyway, you will LOVE this place and the people who run it. Their Web site is [email protected]. Panic not. Craigmillar Park is not in Craigmillar (which, I agree, is definitely an area to avoid). It's the continuation of Minto Street -- between Newington and the King's Buildings of the university. It's a perfectly safe, respectable area.
