Edinburgh Ghost Walks
 

Am taking hubby to Edinburgh early December for a 3 night birthday treat (I know it will be cold & dark - good excuse to cuddle up). Have booked The Witchery for birthday dinner - Any recommendations for a really good Ghost Walk in the evening (he loves that sort of thing). Have also booked Channings Hotel but am wondering if it is too far to walk in the dark & cold. Would Crowne Plaza be more convenient. Many thanks.

Angie, I live just round the corner from Channings (literally) and it will be fine for walking from the Witchery - probably about 20 minutes or so. A taxi from the Witchery won't break the bank either.

Channings is a much more individual hotel than the Crowne Plaza - a friend is staying in Channings just now and he recommends it. Certainly, from what I've seen of it and heard it is the sort of place that would be perfect for a special treat.

I've checked out their website - Looks great for my husband. You don't think it may be a bit to scary and give me a sleepless night?? Perhaps I should send him on his own!

AngieM, perhaps. Whoever scripts the walk understands psychology, the power of suggestion and how to build up tension. One woman did freak out on the walk I was on, really believing that she had contacted the McKenzie poltergeist (unless, of course, she was part of the act?). The other 20 or 30 were ok.
