Edinburgh Airport Rental Car
I will be staying in Edinburgh and taking the airport bus to the airport to pick up a rental car with Alamo. The confirmation to the booking states, "The office is located in the consolidated Car Rental Village. This location only services airline passengers. If you live locally then please choose one of our other local locations." I don't want to pick up in the city as I don't want to drive in the city and I don't want to pay a drop-off charge as I will be dropping off at the airport before flying out the next day. For those familiar with EDI rental cars can I access the Car Rental Village from the outside or do I have to be a secured passenger. I appreciate any guidance. Thanks.

I haven't used the (relatively) new rental car Village. But it is walking distance from the terminals, So if you are taking the AirBus, they will drop you at the terminal and you'd just walk over. They can't stop you from using that location ion AFAIK.

If they banned people who weren't coming off a flight from hiring at Edinburgh Airport they'd lose at least half their trade. If it is a policy then it's been set by people who have never been to Edinburgh in their lives

Car rentals are NEVER inside security, they are always outside. Alamo can quit its whinging and you can get your car.
