After Sheila's great post I cannot add much except to say that my husband who HATES cities when travelling LOVED Edinburgh. I would go back in a minute.

It was probably the quote that Dundee is the "armpit of Scotland" - coming from Dundee I think I'm aloud to say that! But then, for Sheila, Dundee is the halfway point to Edinburgh...

It is of course, the Station Hotel. The address given IS correct. I can't find the correct phone number but I'll post it when I can.
And Keithy baby, as you know, the correct terminology is "oxter". Dundee is half way to nowhere!!

I would never describe Edinburgh as "pretty", rather as "handsome". The city has a strong masculine aura about it, IMO.
