Getting very concerned about upcoming trip to Berlin. Are people avoiding or canceling their trips here?
Why would you?
After reading this article http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/eid/vol5no5/mead.htm
I would not worry about a trip to Germany. |
I'm leaving for Berlin tomorrow. Is there a problem? terrorists? sorry I haven't been following the news for a couple of days.
Luvtosee, could you post what the concern is? |
The e-coli outbreak was based around Hamburg and northern Germany. All those affected got it while visiting that area.
You are as safe in Berlin as you are at home. |
I was planning a trip to NYC, but then I heard about the wildfires in Arizona, and I was afraid I might be burned alive, so I cancelled.
Reminds me of the usual posts on the Caribbean forum which usually flow something like " will I be eaten by sharks, if I dare to snorkel". The replies usually flow something like "possibly but only if you survive the drive to the airport".
For what is worth, I just came back from Spain where I ate every vegetable and fruit I can put my hands on (love veggies & fruit!) and I never felt a second of discomfort. I mentioned Spain for the initial connection with the German e-coli connection (which turned out to be wrong...?).
If you really worry, don't eat raw veggies, can't you get them cooked, enough for digestion and vitamins?
I will be spending 3 nights in the hamburg area and have not even considered canceling this trip. Like mentioned.. just don't eat "raw" anything.
