Eating out in Italy

Can you list your two most favorite restaurants in Rome, Florence and Venice? We will go to Fiesole one night and eat dinner there. We are going with another couple and want lovely places and not all of them expensive. Thank-you.

In Rome, try the Grappolo d'Oro (means Grapes of gold) located in the Campo dei Fiori district, off Corso Vittorio Emanuele Blvd. This restaurant is getting more and more popular every year we visit and this last trip, we had to make weekend reservations. The food is superb and reasonably priced. The ambiance of the Campo dei Fiori area is nice at night with strolling musicians, gelato and cafes open until the wee hours, and lots of Italians and young people out and about soaking in the scene!

In Florence my favourite is
AI QUATTRO AMICI in Via Orti Oricellai, near Santa Maria Novella Station. I went there once and the food was absolutely great! It is not expensive, moderate I'd say.
I think Ira posted some great reviews on some good restaurants in Italy, so I advise to do a search within this forum about that. He gave addresses, menus, wines and prices other that opinions about many restaurants, and I find them a good information. Check it out

Thank you, Battufolina.

Robbiegirl,

Fiesole is a good spot to watch the sun set over Florence.

My trip report is at

I have some suggestions for restaurants in Florence.

In Rome the best restaurant is Myosotis, in Vicolo della Vaccarella. My second favorite is Piazza Caprera (for seafood) in Piazza Caprera.

In Rome, "Nino" and "La Bucca di Ripetta".

In Florence, "Da Noi" and "Il Cavallino".

In Venice, "Antico Martini".

Buon Viaggio & Buon Appetito,
BC
