Eating in Stockholm and Copenhagen
Hi, Traveling by myself to Stockholm and Copenhagen -- wondering how hard it is decipher menu in restaurants. How much is in English? I have traveled a lot in France and there is it very difficult for non-French speakers.
Please give me your thoughts on these two Scandivanian cities. thanks, Peter |

Copenhagen has many wonderful restaurants, and evey one I have been in will hand you a menu in English and Danish after determining what language you speak.
If the weather is nice, try an outdoor table at one of the restaurants on the Nyhavn. |
English is spoken by many people in both countries. Lots of restaurants in both cities will have English menus, ask your wait staff. If they do not have one they'll usually help you navigate the menu. In short it shouldn't be an issue.

Peter: You won't have a hard time with finding English speakers in either capital. It seems that a majority of folks in these cities under sixty speak English fluently. Scandinavia is in the midst of a culinary renaissance; search this list for dining in Stockholm and Copenhagen, and you'll get many suggestions.
