Eating in Paris

We'll be staying in the 7th arondissment on our trip. Any recommendations for not expensive cafes or restaurants in the area? or really good restaurants?

The 7th is chock full of appealing, moderately priced, dining destinations and cafes. Best bet is to take a walk around for what's most appealing to you.

I've visited many highly recommended places and didn't care for them, yet enjoy others that many specifically do not recommend.

My favorites include L'Affriole, Bisto B, Au Bon Accueil, Le P'tit Troquet, La Tour Maubourg, Bistro du 7eme, Le Septième Vin (in no particular order), and lots of others.

You can hardly go wrong, as menus/prices are posted.

Oh, and Le Recrutement - terrific for light bites, especially wonderful composed salads.

Hi fellow Tucsonian, check the Gracejoan commentaries; she always stays in the 7th, as do we (Le Walt hotel).

I've been staying in the 7ème for 25+ years. My favorites are Le Florimond, La Fontaine de Mars, Auberge Bressane, Bistro du 7ème, Punjab (Indian), and all the Christian Constant places, but the area is full of other delightful places. Just walk around and look at menus.

Add Cafe Max to the list also.

I had a nice meal at Le Petit Bougnat, although I believe it's in the 8th. Perhaps it's not that far from where you're staying if you feel like venturing out. They had a €17 prix-fixe menu, and the food was good.

Metro: Ternes on the #2 line

Thanks for all the tips, we'd love to try all of them!

Oh yeah, Pizza Tina, my kids' favorite place to eat in all of Paris. The Sicilian family that owns it will totally crack you up. They are WILD!

Thin, I know where we're going to meet if you're ever in Paris the same time as I am:)
