Eating Around the Pont Neuf Area in Paris
 

We're going to be staying in Paris in early October in an apartment right near the Pont Neuf.

Can anyone provide suggestions for that area about boulangeries, patisseries, fromageries, general grocery stores, and restaurants/carry out there. If possible, please mention the price range of restaurants/carry out.

Café style, simple food, good atmosphere. A really old-style Paris wine bar. Given it’s location you can be quite sure to find quite a lot of foreigners there too. They have different types of “asiettes” (cheese, pate, ham, etc.) for around 12€.

There is the Great Canadian Pub along Seine, but also on rue St Andre Des Arts you will have (from my last trip report)

La Jacobine (6th)
59 St Andre des Arts. Small place, maybe 10 tables, nice painted walls. Had maigret de canard and fish soup. Soup was a puré, not fishy at all. Get a side plate of crème fraiche, bread and grated cheese, which you then mix into soup, glass of Beaujolais. Pleasant and prompt service. Total bill ~30E.

St André des Arts
Busy, table for 2 of which one side had “sofa” seating, very comfy.
At beginning brought plate with two pieces of nice cured sausage, then
Terrine Maison (very good)
½ Vittel
1/4 poulet fermier de Loué, red label with thyme, creamy potatoes (tasty)
No veggies, just potatoes (good)
Glace et fruits
Espresso
Glass of Bordeaux wine
Excellent food, 41E, left 1E tip

I'd avoid the restaurants along rue de la Huchette (ones with guys outside trying to get you in).

There are a good selection of restaurants along the Seine (such Bouquinistes, bit upscale) and several as you walk along Seine away from back of NOtre Dame.

One Ile de la Cite, I've had breakfast a couple of times at the outdoor cafe in front of the Palais de Justice. I also had a nice meal at le Vieux Bistrot, located near Notre Dame.

A bit further into the 6th, away from Seine, is Le Petit Zinc (11 rue St Benoit), which is a classic restaurant with a zinc bar, and seafood specialities.

Rue de Buci has outdoor food stalls in a nice area.

You will have no problem with finding restaurant and bakeries in this area.

Michel_Paris:

I've been told that Le Vieux Bistro closed in 2008. Is that information incorrect?

We like Le Reminet on rue de grand degres , near Shakespeare and Co. Also Petit Benoit, on rue St Benoit and relais d'entrecote on the same street. Bistrot de Paris on rue de Lille and Ministeries on rue de Bac . Fish on rue de Seine is excellent. As Michel mentioned there are numerous place on rue St Andre de Arts . Do avoid rue de la Huchette, otherwise known as Ptomaine Alley

There is a boulangerie on Rue St Andre des Arts and several along Blvd St Michel. There is a super market on rue de Seine at rue de Buci. There are numerous takeout places along Rue du Buci.
