EasyJet Question
 

I'll be flying stand-by into Heathrow consequently don't really want to book a flight with EasyJet to Prague until I arrive. Are the flights always full? If I just show up that day do you think there will be any available seats?

That largely depends on the day of the week - Thursdays & Fridays will be popular outbound - as will Sunday and Monday coming back from Prague to the UK.

I suggest you keep an eye on their website right up until you get on your flight over here - there should be an internet terminal at the airport to allow you to do this - at least this way you'll have the opportunity to plan ahead a few hours or even book your flight prior to getting airborne - you'll only need to make of the booking reference - it's not necessary to print anything out.

The main problem is that the EasyJet flight is likely to be very expensive if you buy it as a walkup passenger. And they don't fly from Heathrow - so check the web site.

If you go to the airport where EasyJet flies to Prague and say you want a seat on the next available flight, I suspect you would get one within 24 hours, but who knows when and at what price. My several EasyJet flights (not to Prague) haven't been entirely full.

Will's correct of course - they don't fly out of Heathrow; you'll have to get to Luton to go easyJet. I was assuming you already had that bit figured out! (Though it never harms to be sure).

Thanks for all the info. EasyJet flys into Gatwick. We would arrive in Heathrow at 2:55, so I'd think we would have enough time to get to Gatwick for a flight to Prague at 18:20. The price on the web is 114.98 euro's. We'll arrive on a Sunday but we could change that. Thanks, hadn't thought about using the airport internet terminal. I guess my main concern was if we just showed up will we get on and will the price be the same. Thanks for your help!

Three hours and twenty-five minutes to get from the scheduled arrival time at Heathrow (being late into Heathrow is a constant certainty for me, plus then you have to get through immigration, customs, luggage, and rush hour) onto an unbought EasyJet flight at Gatwick seems highly unlikely.

Maybe we'll forget Prague. Our mother was born in Scotland, Motherwell, so that might be a plan. Thanks again.

Forgetting Prague and going to Scotland instead....please try to re-think that one..even if you have to spend the night in London in order to make your EasyJet flight the next day!!!

Thing about Easyjet is that their prices most certainly don't remain static - they tend to get more expensive the closer you get to the time, and can end up costing just as much as, say, BA if you book on the day. So I think Scotland sounds much better given your restictions - look into bmi. They fly from Heathrow up to Scotland and, though a standard carrier, are often as cheap as the low-cost flyers, especially if you book last minute. Very good airline.
