EasyJet flights Ð Baggage limitations
We have booked several flights on EasyJet to and from London.
We are 4, but prefer to travel with 2 larger suitcases (30 inch). EasyJet's rules are limiting to 25 Kg per suitcase.
Question is, since we have only 2 pieces, they might be a bit heavier than the 25 Kg each limit. But since we are 4 passengers, our total will still be way lower than 100 Kg. I know airlines in the US are flexible about it, but how would EasyJet treat us?
I sent EasyJet an E-mail with this question, but never got any response.
Anybody with any such experience?
Thanks, Amik

Amik

I have never had a problem on Easy Jet and mine are always stuffed silly and over the weight limit. If you point out politely that you are travelling together, and sharing suitcases, I imagine they won't say anything.

I just had this problem with Buzz though, where they wanted to charge me for one and the other was underweight. I simply asked to speak with the manager at the desk and he said fine, no problem. The clerks are just doing their jobs I guess, but sometimes I wonder where their logic and customer service skills are!

Anyhow, that's just my experience. Good luck!

Anastasia
www.greatbritaintravelguide.com

I have flown in and out of London Luton several times with EasyJet and you WILL almost certainly be charged for excess baggage in Luton. We have found the other cities they fly out of are more flexible, but Luton being the EZY Hub they stick pretty much to the book.
The reason they charge per bag and not per person is that "health regulations" for a baggage handler picking up such a large bag. This has happened to me on American based flights as well.

Last year we moved from Amsterdam to Zurich, but went to London first for Christmas. We were not charged the 50kg extra in AMS to LTN leg but we were for the LTN to ZRH leg.

Easy Jet can be very bloody minded at times, particularly at Luton.
My question is this. Why use 2 large and very heavy suitcases? Somebody in your party is not going to enjoy having to lug them around Europe. Surely l small case each will make life a lot easier in every respect and solve your Easy Jet problem too.

Thanks, Tony
We prefer 2 suitcases, simply because they are NOT going to be very heavy (size 27 and 29"), just a bit over the 25 kg. Ð maybe. Since we are renting (ooooops, hiring...) a car in Scotland, 3 suitcases (even smaller ones) are more difficult to accommodate, even though we are reserved a mid-size car.
ÐÐÐ So what do you say, people?
Thanks in advance, Amik
I agree. Once I tried with one large duffle for two. By the end I was wishing for two small bags which would have been better balanced for walking. Haven't used that bag since. Besides, I think I took out 12 people on the escalator when I turned around to look behind me.
