Easyjet cancelled my flight. How do I re-book for free?

Hi - A question for Easyjet users.

Easyjet e-mailed me to say my flight has been cancelled. I'm trying to re-book the next day ...

To re-book they say:

" ... follow the link to "My
easyJet.com", and log in ...

Click "Amend" and follow the on-screen instructions to change your flight
details FREE OF CHARGE "

Sounds simple, but ... I can find no 'AMEND' option on my booking.

Instead there is a 'Change Booking' option - but that would incur a Flight Change fee plus a Fare difference fee.

They say I can 'amend' free of charge. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help you can give

Steve

You aren't calling them and asking them what's wrong?...I know it's probably a pain in the rear but would it be worth the wait?

And keep those lights on when you're driving, Steve..it does save lives..we'd hate to lose you.

I'm sure Steve can phone, but EasyJet has a pay-for-use support line (one pound per minute plus long-distance charges), so it would be nice to get a free answer, I'm sure.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yes - I'm really trying to avoid phoning them for that reason, Will. I can do without a £20+ phone call charge ...

I'm hoping someone else who has had their flight cancelled has managed to re-book online charge-free - as Easyjet promise - and can talk me through it.

Steve

P.S Hey Dukey - I'll keep them on especially for you

Maybe the "Amend" link is on the e-mail they sent you and not in the website. Have you looked at that ?

When it happened to me I had to go into the booking itself & there was an option to change the booking

Alan - I have gone into the booking itself as they said.

But the option there is not 'Amend' (- for free - as they promised), but rather 'Change Booking' - which incurs a fee plus a fare change supplement.

It effectively doubles the cost of the flight!

I'm still trying to find the free 'Amend' link.

Kenderina - I've just re-checked and unfortunately it's not in the e-mail

Steve

Maybe this will help: http://tinyurl.com/yfp5yh. It will still cost you 10p/min, apparently. Read the Carrier's Regulation link as well.

Aside: EU authorities have reminded budget air carriers about existing regulations concerning such things as their responsibilities to passengers for cancelled flights. Ryanair for one had to revise their contract provisions. Free travel and free overnight accomodations and meals are mentioned.

As a last ditch effort, if you are viewing their site in Firefox, try opening it in Internet Explorer instead.

A couple of times I've found missing things on various web sites that way...

Good luck. What's the point of flying a budget airlines if they are going to nickel and dime you to death?!
