Easyjet baggage limits
 

Hello all! My husband and I will be taking Easyjet from Bordeaux to Geneva in a couple weeks. On their website, they indicate that one piece of "hold" baggage that you check in can not be over 20kg, which is fine. My question is for the "hand" baggage that we will carry on the plane. They give measurements (56x45x25) that each piece can not exceed, but it gives no requirement for weight. Does anyone know the weight restriction for "hand" baggage? My thought is it would be 20kg just like the "hold" baggage, but I don't want a surprise at the airport.

I believe that the weight requirement for carry-on luggage is 7 kilos. EasyJet has a policy of only one carry-on per person including one's handbag, camera bag, etc. But we noticed that it was not strict in applying that rule.

I had the same question once as OP and no, the Easyjet site does not say the weight limit for carry-ons. What I learned then is no weight limit for carry-ons, only size limit. No weight limit means, it needs to be of reasonable weight that you can carry and put in the luggage bin by yourself as the flight staff won't help. It was that way at least until a few months ago when I flew Geneva - Nice return. I don't know where 7kilos come from that Michael says. Is that new?

I tend to think around 10 kilos - only because with other airlines usual limit is 8 - 10 kilo. But as said, EJ has no actual limit so as long as you can handle it yourself, theoretically, you can get away even if it weighs over 20kilos. I don't know if you can make a carry-on sized luggage that heavy though. My maximum is once I made a carry-on that weighed 18 kilos, due to 4 bottles of wine and that was of course before 1 litre liquid rule started.

For hand baggage there is no weight limit - you just have to be able to lift it to the overhead by yourself. I thought it even said this on their website but now I can't find it. BUT - they are super strict about only allowing ONE piece. Not a bag and a purse or laptop,etc. ONE bag. Your pocketbook or whatever has to fit inside the one piece of luggage. If you get to the gate and can't cram your pocketbook or lunch or whatever into one piece they charge you 40 euro and check it. You can wear a coat so I've seen people stuffing all kinds of things in their pockets though.

So, 56 x 45 x 25. I measured my suitcase and it is 56 long but no where near 45 wide. What kind of suitcase is 56 x 45 x 25?
