Easyjet airline question

Hi everyone,
I'm flying from Paris to Venice in April. Has anyone had any experience with Easyjet airlines from Paris CDG to Venice Marco Polo airport?
Did they depart relatively on time? Last time I took an evening flight on Myair airlines and it left several hours late. I didn't get to Marco Polo airport until after everything was closed down. I wound up arriving at the monastery where I was staying in Venice at nearly 1:45 am. It became quite the adventure but at least I came out of it with a funny travel story!
Do they allow you to board the aircraft with both a carry-on sized luggage plus a day bag? It seems that they will consider it two bags, charge 9 euros for the second bag, and require the second bag to be checked in.

Any information you might have will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Archi - I've flown a lot with Easyjet (- though not your route) - and generally find them reasonably punctual.

You will only be allowed one carry-on bag.

The airline requires that you put your day/handbag inside your carry-on, to allow for a 1-bag limit.
Although this is not always strictly adhered to, you should leave a bit of room in your carry-on to expect this likelihood.

Here are the easyJet baggage rules: http://www.easyjet.com/EN/Planning/baggage.html

Note the restrictions on liquids if you plan to travel with carry-on only. I have always found easyJet punctual, but sometimes factors beyond their control (e.g. takeoff slots, air traffic control) cause delays.

I've found easy jet to be reliable and punctual (as much as any other airline). The bag thing though is totally at the discretion of the check in clerk. Once I had to check my bag even though it met all size restrictions and then I got to the gate and people on my very flight had larger bags they were carrying on. But I've had the reverse happen too and been allowed on with more than I expected. I always pack a nylon tote bag inside my main suitcase (which is a 19" rolling) and if I have to check it I quickly pull out the main things from my suitcase and put them in the tote bag. Then check the almost empty suitcase. I pack my stuff in mesh packing bags so it's easy to repack into the tote if I have to.

Thank you for all your replies. As always, you are all so generous with your information and experiences.

I'm glad to hear the airline is punctual, for the most part. I'd much rather be in Venice than waiting at the airport for the flight to actually take off. I went ahead and booked my flight with them and decided to pay for two bags in advance (9 euros each). I don't think I'll be able to fit my daybag into my carry-on.

Sorry for not responding sooner mychoneys but when there weren't any replies for a while I stopped checking. I just looked again today. I hope the other responses helped you too.

Thanks

My sisters flight was cancelled from Venice - Liverpool & the next scheduled flight out was 2 days later so they had to find a room for 2 nights.
