Easycar
Has anyone rented from Easycar in England? I have used AutoEurope in the past, but this seems less expensive.
|
They have a lead-in price of only £5 a day (sometimes even less), but check their conditions carefully. Only one type of car is offered, usually Mercedes-Benz A series. There's a daily limit of 75 miles and extra mileage is pretty high. Also you stick to their time scale or you pay extra. There's a charge if you don't clean and wash the car before returning and it's strictly return to base. If all the conditions suit you, fine but for most renters the flexibility of a traditional rental through Autoeurope may be a better choice.

Thanks Alec. I admit I haven't looked too carefully yet-thanks!

You may well find that hiring an Easycar for longer than you need (and getting the 75 mile allowance for each day), if you getg a really low - round £5 - daily rate, is actually the cheapest option around if you're not going to use the car much.

They had a reputation when they started for a somewhat over-zealous interpretation of their terms relating to cleaning and minor damage. I've only used them for very short-term hires, where the terms were really favourable, and I had no trouble: but I did make them check off every single minor spot or failing I could find before I took the car.

Gree65. We are using Carjet for Portugal this year. The rental terms are very good and they were about $400 cheaper for the 10 days we are using them then Auto Europe. I have never used them before.
They are also a UK rental agency. |
thanks for the imput. I'm looking into both closely. It's only for two days, so it might be worth the risk, but I'll let you know what I find tonight! Thanks again!
