Easy & scenic hikes in Slovenia (Alps)?

Hi - we are traveling to Slovenia in early September 2014, and would like recommendations on a few easy to moderate hikes in the Julian Alps (2-4 hours total) that are nice and scenic. Any ideas?

Hi, where will you be staying? Although the Julian Alps aren't very vast, the choice in hikes is still limited by your base, without that piece of information it's hard to really recommend anything.

PS You might want to try posting this question on the Tripadvisor Slovenian forums as well, some of their regular members are experts on local hiking.

I don't know if the Vintgar Gorge is technically in the Julian Alps, but it is gorgeous and is easy to walk.

We haven't decided where to stay just yet - we're still exploring that piece as well. Since everything is so close and we'll have a car, hiking options are open. Just looking for the most scenic, non-strenuous hikes.

The walk around Lake Bled is fairly easy and gorgeous.

We'll definitely do the walk around Bled. Looking for something at a higher elevation...

Have you checked the Lonely Planet guide to Slovenia? That's where I would look.
