EASY JET QUESTION

Has anyone flown easyjet from Gatwick to Milan? The fares are great...but I'm wondering about dependability, etc. I know that with Ryan Air, one must get to the airport at least 1 hour before departure or they give away your seat. Any input on EasyJET?? Thank you.

I haven't flown that particular route but I have flown with them to plenty of other places.

I think Easyjet are good and I much prefer them to Ryanair. With a no-frills airline you get what you pay for. Up to now, I have never been delayed much by Easyjet (certainly no more than any other airline).

You must check in 30 minutes before departure and that's non-negotiable so get there with enough time to spare.

I have no idea what you mean about Ryanair giving seats away if you don't arrive 1 hour before departure. Their check-in requirement is 40 minutes before departure, again with no arguments if you're late.

No problems with EasyJet and it is an airline that actually MAKES money. Dependable, reliable, economical...just be there no later than 30 minutes ahead as was stated above.

I took this route last October and then took a train to Bergamo. It was a GREAT airlines--not too keen on the bright orange everywhere, but energetic staff. You probably know that there is no free beverages or snacks on board. Even
soda costs. Still the fare was only 1/3 of the cost of British Airways--that buys a lot of sodas!

Thank you all so much for this info on Easy Jet! I had flown Ryan when my husband and I lived in London -- but not easyjet and just wanted to make sure before we made the reservation. Sounds like a good call!

Be there somewhat more than 30 minutes ahead. You have to be through the lineup and checked in by 30 minutes ahead (but 40 minutes at Stansted and possibly some other airports). Then you have to get through a security line of indeterminate length to make the flight.

Dependability-wise they're fine. Just make sure your checked bag isn't over the weight limit, tho, or you'll end up paying as much in excess bag weight fees as you did for your ticket.
