Easy drive from Tuscany to Bologna?
Our flight plans are such that we need to fly out from Bologna but we are staying in Tuscany about 30 km southwest of Florence. Our travel agent says it should be fine. Can anyone who has done this drive comment on the ease and possible routing?

Hi,
...it is easy to drive from all the tuscany spots to Bologna. Don't be afraid - italians love their freeways - and they are great speed limit 130 km/h
The main freeway is "E35"(A1) and connects
Firence with Bologna. Ca. 373km through
the mountains with a up to ten tunnels.
You also can go from highways to Bologna, "12" or "64", but those will wind through the landscape, but the streets are good. Max. speed 90km/hrs
More questions - dont hesitate to ask
Shain/Germany/Düsseldorf
Being the cautious driver that I am, it sounds like I should give at least 3 or 4 hours to get there.

Yes,
if the weather is fine (beginning normally may/june, than the rainy season is done and no fog between the hills. And ad another 30 minutes to find airport, another 30 minutes to return rental car. In italy people know how to live - means sometimes they are not the fastest but always friendly !
Shain/Germany/Düsseldorf

I'd be very much surprised if, from wherever you're staying, you'll need more than 2 hours to drive to Marconi airport in Bologna. It took me 1:45 hours from Radda in Chianti last year.

Hi again,
I still suggest you should def calculate
a min. driving times of 2 hours, especially when u say from yourself that u are a cautios driver. Also - enjoy scenerey!
Shain/Germany/Düsseldorf
