Eastern European beers?

I know Budweiser and Pilsner Urquell pretty well, but what other Central/Eastern European beers are out there that are good? Polish, Hungarian, etc.

Hi
I think that Staropromen (Czech) is even better than Pilsner Urquell.

They make good beers in Estonia. Saku is the biggest brewery, and Saku Tume (Dark Saku) is my favourite.

For anyone who likes Guinness, they have their own version in Czech Rep. called Kelt. Tacky name but a nice alternative.

Polish breweries produce real beer. Lots of body and alcohol. 5% to 10%, Imported beers usually under 5%. Tap beers are really great, they taste better than similar bottled or canned ones. My grocery store is now out of Kiper brand. It is heavy and with 8.2% alcohol plus honey! Poles seem to be switching to beers rather than vodka. Choices include ginger and lemon beers. Yesterday a 500 mil/16 oz. can at 4.7 was selling for about 30 cents at supermarket. 9% Caper was at 90 cents. Come to Poland and try our beers!

We visited the Staropramen Brewery when in Prague last May, and agree with Ira it is a good beer. We buy it here in the Bay Area under the name Starobrno. Also were able to recently buy some Budvar which was great.

Had an Urquell last night with dinner; pork ribs, sauerkraut and dumplings.

Haven't tried the Polish beers yet, but it sounds like I would like them.
