Eastern Europe weather in October??

Hello Everyone-
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the typical highs and lows are in early October. We are heading to Vienna, Prague and Budapest. Oh yeah, because I am a "dumb american" (just kidding) can you tell me in farenheit??

You can check weather history at weatherunderground.com and typical highs/lows at weather.com.

OK - once again - Vienna, Prague and Budapest are not eastern europe - they are CENTRAL europe - because they are in the center - not the east - which is Russia, Ukraine etc.

The weather in October is pleasant fall weather - what you would expect in NYC or Philly - not the early winter weather you would expect in St Pet or perhaps even Moscow.

You definitely can use a mid wieght jacket - but not winter coat, hat gloves, scarf etc.

We were there last year during the last week of September and the first week of October. It was quite warm (mid to high 60s) with very little rain.

I was in Prague and Vienna October 9-16 last year and the low was 35 and the high 51, and it felt colder with the windchill. I was freezing (and I'm a hearty New England girl!)

I was in Prague last October and it was damn cold. When I arrived it was pleasant autumn weather and I mentioned how nice it was to a shopkeeper. He looked at me and responded "Yes, but tomorrow rain and then the cold will come." And it did! I had a fairly heavy fleece jacket and froze. However, if I'd had a wool sweater under it I think I would have been okay. I did have a wool beret, which helped, but the wind went right through that jacket.

Layering is the key. Wool or cashmere sweater, midweight jacket, hat or scarf, warm socks. Silk undershirts are lightweight and might help too.

I was in Berlin beginning of Oct. beginning of Nov. and it was FREEZING! Check www.wunderground.com for last year's high/low for that time.

That should have read "end of October".
