Eastern Europe.

Would like to visit Eastern Europe. I have been to Prague and Budapest and both were fantastic.. Would be travelling in the Fall so weather should not be a problem. Any Ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks

A good guidebook should be of tremendous use. And search this board for trip reports, planning threads, etc. Good luck!

Next fall? More cities? Small towns? How far off the beaten path?

The most obvious is krakow... I love the smaller capitals (Zagreb, Ljubljana ). Sarajevo is at the top of my list now. Romania is enchanting, but a bit further out on the comfort zone.

Thanks, I was thinking of Bulgaria and Romania so far but not really sure.

In that case, search this board for tower's posts on Romania -- use the "Advanced search" link to the upper right of the screen and once you get to the advanced search screen, specify "Romania" as the "search term", put the "from" date back as far as possible, and enter "tower" as the
"Member name". Then click SEARCH and go through what comes up.

And/or use google with search terms that include Romania, Tower, and Stu.

Hope that helps!

You might want to look at my trip reports, one on Hungary and Romania and the other on Poland' click on my name to find them. But guidebooks would also be useful.

Thanks for the help. The travel books are good, but any information from Fodors always seems to be the best!
