Easter in Ireland
My boyfriend and I will be flying into Cork 3/20 . This is what out trip looks like so far.
1 night in Kinsale at The Olde Bakery 2 nights in Dingle at The Lantern Townhouse 2 nights in Doolin at Daly's House 2 nights in Connemora at Faul House At this point I need some ideas. Mayo? Sligo? We will be in Dingle on Good Friday will we have a problem finding a restaurant open Susan from the Daly House in Doolin suggested we have Easter dinner at O'Conner's but I have read a few negative comments about the pub on this site. Can anyone suggest a nice place to have Easter dinner in Co. Clare? We will be leaving out of Shannon on 3/30. Thanks guys! |
STOP! You have bypassed Kenmare and Killarney one of the most scenic spots in Ireland. Before thinking of Mayo and Sligo consider what you are missing. Two days (or more) in Kenmare are advised.

I agree with IrishEyes! It is also a very long and tiring drive from Kinsale to Dingle. This is your holiday - slow down and enjoy it!
Some Irish driving tips here: http://www.hidden-dublin.com/tours/drive01.html I can't remember the Daly House in Doolin but would have thought there will be plenty of decent places open. |
I agree that Kenmare would be a fantastic place to stop for a couple of days. The area is stunning.
As for Good Friday, all pubs and most restaurants will be closed. It would be a good idea to make sure that you will be able to find somewhere to eat. You might consider checking in to a hotel for that portion of your trip. |
In dingles I doubt any restaurant is open. Not much in dublin is open except coffee shops or or the spar. a hotel would be a better option as you may not get fed otherwise. You may have to booked into the hotel as well to eat there and No drink if you are not resident i.e. booked in.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your advice. I went ahead and made reservations at Virgina's Guesthouse in Kenmare for a night, the innkeeper made reservation for us at Mulcahy's for dinner. Any feedback on this guesthouse and Mulcahy's restaurant? Thanks again for ya'll's advice! |
