Easiest Way Provence to Venice

We'll have a car but there's a drop charge. I'd prefer not to take the train and change in Milan and I can't find any reasonable flights.
We do have one extra day of itinerary, so it we drive we could break the trip somewhere (and live with the drop charge).
Has anyone done this?
Thanks so much!

Well, you could always fly via london on one of the discount airlines; seems silly, but...

You can take the night train. You won't have to change in Milan (but the train will get reshuffled several times along the way).

It's a bit of a tough call. It somewhat depends on how your group travels. I've found I don't sleep well on the night trains, so if I were to do that route again, I'd either take the day train (even with the Milan connection) or drive. With several extra days en-route, I'd probably drive; with one, I'd train.
