early morning flight out of lisbon: where to stay?
 

I want to put our time in Lisbon either at the beginning or end of our trip. I'm considering staying the first night in Sintra, and then driving to either Nazarre or Evora for the 2nd night and onwards and finishing up the 2 weeks in Lisbon. The issue is that we have a 7 am flight out of Lisbon - is the airport close enough to the city to just stay our last night there, or should we move to an airport hotel for the final night? and if so suggestions?

or we could reverse it: first 4 nights or so in Lisbon and final night in Sintra. would it be possible to get from Sintra to the airport at 4 am or so?

The airport is really close - google says 8 km from Rossio station in the heart of downtown. The airport bus doesn't run that early, but the metro may.

The metro doesn't run that early (it opens at 6:30 am). But it's a very quick taxi ride from central Lisbon to the airport, and there will be no traffic at that early hour. Spend your last night in Lisbon!

We took a taxi from our hotel (Avenida Palace, next door to Rossio) at 7:15 last month and were at the airport at 7:35. Fare was under ten euros.

The only problem you might have depending on where you are staying is attracting a taxi. The hotel could probably arrange to have one for you.
