early flight from venice: how much time for pre-flight
 

Any updated info/suggetions on how far in advance to get to VCE to take a 7:20 a.m. flight (Air France) to CDG and from there to SFO?

Not later than 5:30 AM based on my experience last October, but it may be worse now.

This is a very, very stressful airport where things eventually work out fine. Just try not to lose it while you wonder how anyone survives the chaos.

It will be full of anxious Americans, worried about their connections, who are hungry (you can get espresso but not much in the way of food at that hour), tired, and don't speak the language very well or understand the system at all.

I've been through it more than once, and while I am one of those anxious Americans, I know all will be well in the end.

since you're already been at VCE, do you remember if and where the ATMs might be at the airport? I'll be flying into VCE in 3 weeks and will pick my Euros there, so if I have an idea where the ATMs are, it will make that part easier, since I will have been in transit for close to 24 hours by the time I get there.
