Early dinner in Bordeaux - where?
I have about two hours for transfer at Bordeaux train station, and I want to use this time to have a dinner. But the problem is that this is before 7 PM and it's Sunday. Is there any restaurant that serves dinner at this time? I want a sit down meal, not a hard baguette sandwich. Thanks.

With only two hours on a Sunday before 7 pm you'd better stick with one of the places right around St-Jean. You absolutely do not have enough time to get to one of Bordeaux's nicer restaurants; they won't be serving at that hour, and even if they were it would be rude to rush through a meal; and on Sunday your choices are limited anyway. Most of the cheap places across from the station should be open.

Thanks StCirq
It sounds like I'll be better off having that hard baguette sandwich for dinner. I heard that the area near the train station is not that safe, so I don't think I want to wander around looking for any open restaurant. |
Togo - don't be too worried about the area around the train station at that time of day. It's later at night that I would be more cautious.

There aren't any safety issues at the time you're going to be there. Besides, finding a place to eat means literally exiting the train station and walking across the street. It will be broad daylight still at that time, and you won't need to wander around far to find something.

Thanks everybody
Maybe I should worry about the food those cheap places serve. Hopefully something edible.. |
Stations of importance always have a restaurant in the premises, called "Buffet de la Gare" (nothing to do with a all-you-can eat place). Bordeaux has one. Service is quick - they are used to serving travelers in a rush.
