E10 or r95: which one is easier for winter drive?

Dear all,

I will visit my friend in Lulea on 20/3/2017 and plan to drive from Lulea to Lofoten Norway.
However, I am not sure which road should I take as it is still in winter.

I am thinking between Lulea - E10 - Kiruna
OR Lulea - r95 - Arjeplog

Which one is easier to drive in winter? I will travel alone so I would like to make sure that I will have the safest way of driving.

Thanks

Why not ask your friend? They can probably advise you.

You must have snow chains to drive in Norway in winter and fit them as needed. Practice fitting them before you need them!

There aren't many experts on Sweden on this forum. Most who give advice haven't been there or have not been for many years. I drive in Sweden during the winter and have never had snow chains nor seen any cars with them: the law is snow tyres and rental cars between November and end of March are equipped with such tyres. I would stick to E10 because it is a bigger road but whichever you go on, the roads are cleared of snow pretty quickly and efficiently. I can't comment on tyre requirements for Norway.
