E-Ticket for Paris Museum Pass
 

I see that you can buy an e-ticket version of the Paris Museum Pass. Is there any reason not to purchase the pass in this format?

There are small transaction fees online versus purchasing at a museum, but I wouldn't consider it a discouragement. Only reason I can see to not buy online is because you don't have a smart phone or have battery issues with your phone.

I think their website is confusing as it's really buying online versus in-person. LIke any e-ticket when you buy online, you get a confirmation which you can easily print to take a copy of, also. I personally don't hardly ever use a smartphone and don't carry one with me in Europe, so that's what I do. For security, I'd want a backup copy anyway, what if your phone doesn't work or you lose it or it gets stolen or it runs out of power? I actually saw someone's phone get stolen right in front of them at an outdoor cafe in Paris, stupid people laid it on the table and some guy just swooped by and took it. So don't do that, lay your phone down in public or even show it off that much.

The other alternative is to buy one in person in Paris, that's all.

Christina- thanks for the information and the warning about leaving my phone out. That sounds like something I might have done if you hadn't warned me.

oh, well good to be cautious of that. Depends where you are from, that can happen in any city, seems to me, even in the US but I don't think it's quite as common here (at least in the cities where I've been) as it is in big cities in Europe, not just Paris. In certain countries, anyway that are reallypopular with tourists.

I'm not sure why they were doing that (the people I saw), laying their phone on the table as it didn't really serve a purpose.. there are lots of pickpockets on the main metro lines, also FYI.
