This is an add-on from oldamy. From someone who has "been there and done that", how does <BR>one send e-mails from England to friends and family back home. My server is local (to avoid long distance connecting fees). My lap top could go with me if I could get some advice. We leave 8/21.

easiest way is to get a free hotmail account (www.hotmail.com) so that you can send and recieve email from anywhere and then go to any internet cafe (www.netcafeguide.com) and log into your email anywhere in the world.

We did that in the UK. The going rate is about 5 pounds/hr. In some cities, they are hard to find. Either research thoroughly before you go or got to the city's Tourist Info Center (TIC) to find one in town.

Also try local public libraries for internet access, and possibly even museums. We got free internet access at the National Museum in Copenhagen and the public libraries in two medium-sized towns.
