e-mail format for contacting Italian hotel
I've been attempting to e-mail the Hotel degli Orafi in Florence. I continue to get an error message that my e-mail address is not in the correct format. Any suggestions?
I've tried all lower case, all upper case, mixed. Any help appreciated. thanks. |
The simplest thing is not to use their standard form but their direct email address - [email protected]
This also has the advantage that you have a copy of your message which is not always the case with these standard forms. |
Or call them on the phone if you have a simple inquiry.
|
YOUR e-mail address or theirs? At least you got some sort of out-of-the-great-void RESPONSE....and I think you've gotten excellent advice above, too.

Emailing hotels in Europe directly is often a major waste of time. Pick up the phone and call. I know it seems so last-century, but in Europe it works.

Using the hotel's e-mail address is definitely the way to go. Take nochblad's sound advice. Using the phone is costly and unnecessary. |
Using the phone is costly? Maybe 20 years ago, but not today. 8-10c per minute from the US isn't costly. If you're paying more than that then you have the wrong long distance plan or should use a dial around #.

"<i>Using the phone is costly and unnecessary.</i>"
Definitely not IME. Haven't had a call to Europe cost more than $1.50 in several years. Usually less than $1. You can try to e-mail them -- but I find that <strike>most</strike> many places don't treat e-mails w/ much urgency. Faxes and phone calls are often better |
Yeah, and if you have Skype it's nothing.
|
I FAX because I like all communication in writing. That's just me. But this is a 4-star hotel, so you should get proper and helpful service whichever way you reach them. If you don't, then move on.
