E and E apartments in London

Has anyone used this apartment service in London? They rent apartments in the Victoria and Pimlico area of London.

They have a website, but it does not show individual apartments.

If you have rented from E & E, what was your experience like? Was the apartment clean, nicely furnished and well located?

Thank you for your help. Laurie

I have used "E & E" several times - probably 9 or 10 times over the last 6 or 7 years, and referred many others. I last used them in June. If they have a website that is new - they used to only have an e-mail address.

Edwina and Elaine (the "E & E" ) are really super to work with. They do not own the flats - it is a rental/management company that specialises in Pimlico and Victoria. Since each apartment is individually owned, they vary in size, quality and decor. Some are modern, some homey old fashioned, some fairly basic. But all are in really convenient locations and are clean. And they are allreally good value for money.

They are in different bldgs spread all over Vic/Pimlico. Some in modern developments, some in small period bldgs, and some "one-offs" over shops or restaurants.

I have never been disappointed w/ a flat -- but do not expect large modern US-style apartments (which would apply to most anywhere in London).

They will likely not give you the specific flat's address until you arrive - that gives them flexibility if tennants stay longer or leave before scheduled. The worst that can happen - say you rent a 1-bedroom and there is no 1bdrm available when you arrive, they will upgrade you to a 2 bdrm at the same rate.

Can you please share the web address and/or the e-mail address for what sounds like a great service?
Cheers

Hi Janis,
Thank you for your reply. We will be in London for 4 days next June. We are visiting with another couple so we will need a 2 bedroom apartment.

We stayed at Hamlet apartments in June of 2003 and we were very happy there, but the location is clear over by the Tower Bridge.

I wish I could see some photos of the apartments that E and E rents. Your input helps me though. Their rental terms are reasonable.

I'm unsure of which service to use, Hamlet or E and E.

Seamus, the website is : www.eandeapartments.co.uk

Thanks again for your help, Janis

Thanks for the E & E URL.

I haven't been able to stay w/ Hamlet because they have always been full when I've had the opportunity. But I have had correspondence w/them and have been impressed and have referred folks to them too. But I agree, St Catherine's Dock is a little far out of the center for a short visit.

BTW - the one penthouse apartment E&E lists is probably the BEST BARGAIN in London (I've stayed in it twice0. It is a two story flat with two roof terraces, one with lounge furniture and the other w/ patio dining table and views tothe Eye/Big Ben in the distance, a queen bdrm, twin bdrm, bunk bdrm, 2.5 baths, lovely living/dining room, access to St Georges garden square, etc. Dennis Healy (the former Chancelor of the Exchequer) lived just downstairs. It costs more of course - but 1200 GBP/week is still a terrific deal.

Their other flats are not in that league -- but most are in the same neighborhood. Count on serviceable, convenient location and clean - if you end up w/ a posh place consider it a bonus.

Janis, Thanks for the tip about the penthouse. We cannot afford it for this trip, but in summer of 2006, we may be a party of 6. Three moms and three teen daughters are traveling together and this apartment sounds wonderful!

Thanks again for the info. I have emails in to both agencies and am awaiting replies.

Best Regards, Laurie
